Mc Ginnis We are licensed by the Traffic Safety Bureau and offer our students 30 hours of classroom instruction and 7 hours behind-the-wheel driving. Unlike the public high schools in New Mexico who offer only classroom work, we at McGinnis are committed to teaching our students with a hands-on approach to driving.

For the convenience of our students, we offer instruction in automatic transmission vehicles. Our course is designed to introduce the student to the basic fundamentals, skills, and attitudes that characterize a good driver. This course of study not only teaches the student how to control the car, but also to control their temper, to be a defensive driver, and to learn to expect the unexpected, including DWI education and prevention.

So bad. the entire class was so boring, but ontop of that there is no place to schedule your drive times on the website and you have to call them. also, you can only do ONE HOUR DRIVE TIMES. IN THE SPAN OF TWO WEEKS. just go to turners. also, when you actually are able to schedule your drive times they make you put in your permit and when it was issued, but you cant even do that because you have to have permission to do it. screw Mcginnis.

McGinnis is the only place for anyone to take classes to prepare to get their driver's license. I took classes in 1976 when I was a teenager. I was 14 and 9 months when I completed my program and got my driver's license. Still remember what I was taught.

At first I was apprehensive to send my son here, because of all the reviews but I am very pleased to say that our experience was very positive my son enjoyed the class and Mr Mcginnis was an excellent instructor.

I'd give this place no stars if I could. The owner is rude and a liar. When I was taking driver's ed he kept calling me "baby and Hun" when I asked him very politely to stop he immediately got mad and had me drive back to the school, when we got there my best friend was waiting for me in the lobby so I went in there and she followed me into the office (the lobby and office have separate doors on the outside but have connecting room Inside) Mr. Mcginnis walked into me and turned around and started yelling at me saying" I was the Rudest student he's ever had" I asked him to stop yelling at me and when he did not, I turned to leave and he hit me in the shoulder. Dont send your children here.

Both of my kids have been here and are now great drivers. They learned a lot of great information during the classes. They passed their written test with flying colors. Their driving lessons have always been good and they learn all sorts of information and facts from the instructors after each lesson. They have even taught me a thing or two that I didn't necessarily know. Marcy is always helpful whenever I have called to ask a question.

The first time I spoke to her I had sent an email asking some questions about the different courses. She called within a half an hour after I sent that email and made recommendations on what course my oldest son should take because he has ADHD. I highly recommend them if you want your child to know all there is to know about driving and driving safely and being aware of all their surroundings while driving.

Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value Owner was just rude. Still got my license but barely. Makes very uncomfortable. Wouldn't suggest for new timers. I like his son Ryan though he's a great teacher!

I would not give this place not even ONE star! I took my daughter there for her road test and Mr. Mcginnis literally made her cry. He is rude and condescending. He questioned my ability as well in teaching our daughter how to drive and my ability to correct her. Parents do NOT take your kids there! Go somewhere that actually cares about our young new drivers! I am shocked and horrified that MVD actually sent us to these horrible, creepy, unprofessional people!

I took the courses here a few years ago when I turned 18 and was a very shy person, but I had no problems with any of the instructors up until I had my pre test with the owner himself. He asked me a question about driving and being as nervous as I was I answered wrong and he then began to harass me while I was driving saying that because I didn't know the right answer that I am insinuating his instructors are not teaching me right.

Like how does someone think something like that? Then when I finished and we got back he insisted to another instructor that I said they were not teaching me right. This was one of absolute worst experiences and I would not recommend at all. I honestly don't know if he was be prejudice being that I'm Asian or if he is just a psychopath. I was so scared of him that I refused to go back to take my test and my aunty who payed $500 was very upset. So thanks for nothing!

They make learning fun and I think most appreciate that. I don't know where most of these bad reviews are coming from but I personally think it is ridiculous. If you want your child to go to a good driving school who gets the job done; I personally suggest you come here. But instead of just my suggestion, why don't you go there and see for yourself. (They are harmless)

For the third time I have come upon one of these vehicles with an instructor and a student, cruising along slowly in the left lane making vehicles have to pass on the right. This is not the first time, not the second time but the third time that I have seen this with this so-called driving School. If you don't even understand that the left lane is for passingthen I shudder to think about the drivers you are turning out.

My son went to driving school and now my daughter went there. Its a great school. Both of my teenagers never had a complaint about the teacher or the staff that work there. Thank You for everything. Mr Mcginnis you and your son are great teachers.

I had such an amazing experience with McGinnis! I lost my wallet right before my driving test and they were willing to and able to work with me on still being able to get my paperwork. They went above and beyond for me. The driving test itself was amazing! He didn't bring a clipboard or the paperwork so it wasn't stressing. He was very soft spoken and kept up a very calming conversation. It was all very wonderful. Definitely well worth the money! Thank you guys!

I had a good experience with them. Today if I'm a good driver it's just because of the driving teachers. They're really calm and patience with every single student. They're just awesome . I would recommend everyone to go McGinnis to learn how to drive. Keep it up McGinnis

I came to this location excited and ready to learn how to drive. Little did I was going to be judged for being poor and embarrassed in front of a class with about 20 students. David mcginnis is a judgmental, dicriminating, belittling human being. He tried to make me feel lower than him because I couldnt pay for the driving class myself. I was sponcered by sombody so I wouldnt have to pay out if pocket.

I was not aware there was a wrong answer to his question. He yanked me out of class, told me I disgusted him, kept my money and kicked me out permenitly. then talked to my mom on the phone like she was stupid and less than. We are low income but we are good people and all I wanted was to learn how to drive before my 21st birthday. All of this started after i declined a ride home from him (what male teacher asks their female teenage students if they need a ride home?) If you are low income or you have a sponserer i suggest any driving school but this one. He dosent need your money, $800 is pocket change to him, he made that very clear to his class.

I signed up and paid for five private lessons for my grandson. He went to and loved the first lesson. He failed to show up to the second lesson (after eight weeks) and did not give proper notice. There is a cancellation fee of $35 plus tax if you don't cancel on time. I called McGinnis and spoke to a very pleasant, professional, and helpful young woman, I believe her name is Lisa.

She helped me get a refund for the balance of the unused classes minus the fees, of course. This is a very professional business and I would definitely do business with them again. Hopefully, my younger grandson is more mature and responsible than my older grandson. Anybody who complains about this business needs to try teaching a bunch of teenaged brats how to drive. Not a simple feat so I consider this a very professional place. I highly recommend.

Wow, the old lady that answers the phone is extremely rude. I second you on the, "who needs to be treated like a second-class citizen? Who actually pays to be condescended to?" Well not me either. I had some good experiences with McGinnis School of Driving up until i had to speak to the older women who is currently taking calls for your office. If the lady is not your wife or family than i suggest getting rid of her.

Cause man is she driving customers towards wanting to deal with other companies after being spoken to and condescended to like she is doing. This lady spoke to me as if everything was my fault and that i should know the information already. I suggest going elsewhere until this lady is fired unless you want to be degraded and talked down to

Our son got excellent driver training here. Instructors far better than what his friends got in other less expensive schools. Highly recommend. Shame they only use clunky American cars.
