Report
In the state of Idaho, a teenager can enter a driver education program at the age of 14 1/2. However, he or she must be 15 in order to receive a full driver's license. Anyone that is 17 or over is not required to attend a course of driver education. However, it may be a good idea for any new driver to take a driver education course. The standard program for teenager certification is 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel driving with a state licensed driving instructor.

Tony Campos
My name is Tony Campos, and I own and operate Roadmasters. I do have over 20 years experience, because I began teaching starting in 1987. Over the years, I have seen and experienced a lot of things on the road. I can tell you with complete confidence that every one of us that drives is still far from perfection. Not one of us must ever give up on improving our ability to drive.

My son started the in person class in February. It took 7 weeks to finish them. We then waited more than 2 months for my son to be able to start behind the wheel training. By the time my son finished that and was handed his permit, it had taken almost 6 months! Do NOT sign your kid up for Roadmasters unless you have almost half a year to waste! The owner takes on WAY too many kids and has no idea how to run his business efficiently. What a mistake.

You can get into this class quickly but good luck getting your child scheduled to drive! It takes months! This school takes too many students and can't accommodate the need to do the driving portion of the class.

We really appreciated Roadmasters teaching our son to drive in real world situations. I've driven in Idaho for 20 years.and let me tell you this area could use more drivers being educated by Tony. My son was halfway through his classroom instruction when COVID hit. Tony offered him to go to the online option, but our son wanted to stick with Tony's classroom education, so our 15 year old boy was willing to wait - that says something right there as far as I'm concerned. Tony was firm, encouraging and actually TEACHES kids to drive, not just pass tests. I am very grateful. Thanks, Roadmasters!
