Driver Education
Our comprehensive driver education program combines classroom learning with practical experience. Students learn traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and hazard recognition through structured lessons. With 24 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, we prepare students to pass their road tests and become responsible drivers.
Segment One Training
This state-mandated course covers essential driving knowledge and skills. It includes classroom instruction on legal requirements, safety protocols, and practical driving experience. Students must complete this segment before receiving their Level One license, with instruction tailored to individual learning speeds.
Segment Two Classes
Designed for drivers preparing for independent operation, this course reinforces defensive driving practices and road safety. Through three consecutive days of intensive review, we help students build confidence and mastery of complex driving scenarios before their road test.
Adult Driving Lessons
We provide specialized instruction for adult learners and those needing skill refreshment. Our patient instructors offer one-on-one lessons in our dual-control vehicles, covering basic operation through road test preparation. Lessons include pick-up and drop-off convenience at your location.
Road Test Preparation
Our targeted training addresses common road test challenges and scoring criteria. We focus on maneuver execution, rule adherence, and confidence-building exercises. Students receive personalized feedback to ensure they're fully prepared for their official examination by certified examiners.

Yes, all our instructors hold current Michigan driver education instructor licenses and complete ongoing state-mandated training requirements.
How much do the driving classes cost?
Segment One costs $440, Segment Two is $55, and adult driving lessons are $60/hour. We require a $100 non-refundable deposit for registration.

I drove with Rhonda with private lessons for most of my 50 hours. She was always patient, kind, and punctual. She made me feel comfortable while driving and it was incredible to watch how rapidly I improved under her instruction. After driving with her, I passed my road test on the first attempt which is something I always doubted I could do. I would recommend Keys Driving School to anyone in West Michigan who wants somewhere to learn and grow as a driver in a challenging yet welcoming environment.
