Defensive Driving Lessons
Our defensive driving courses focus on hazard anticipation, proper steering techniques, and safe braking practices. Students learn to navigate complex traffic scenarios while developing situational awareness. The curriculum emphasizes risk mitigation and adherence to traffic laws, ensuring drivers gain confidence and competence in real-world conditions.
Behind-the-Wheel Training
Hands-on driving sessions cover essential skills including lane positioning, speed management, and intersection navigation. Instructors provide real-time feedback to correct unsafe habits and reinforce proper techniques. Training adapts to individual progress, with additional focus on areas requiring improvement during subsequent lessons.
3-in-3 Driver Training
Specialized program for drivers with three crash-related tickets in three years. Structured four-hour sessions address recurring safety issues through targeted instruction. Curriculum meets state requirements while focusing on behavioral changes to prevent future incidents, culminating in official certification upon completion.
Night Driving Instruction
Nighttime lessons emphasize visibility management, reduced reaction times, and proper use of vehicle lighting systems. Instructors guide students through dimly lit roads and high-traffic scenarios, building confidence in low-visibility conditions while reinforcing defensive driving principles specific to nighttime operation.
ADHD Driver Coaching
Tailored training for drivers with attention deficit disorders focuses on impulse control, sustained focus, and task prioritization while driving. Instructors employ adaptive teaching methods to address specific challenges, incorporating frequent feedback loops and structured practice sessions to develop safe driving habits.

I've known Joda Collins for many years. He is a devoted and gracious man. His desire to teach people proper driving skills is sincere, professional, and passionate. I have recommended his school many times - for as long as he has been in business. Not a soul to whom I have recommended him was disappointed. Mr. Collins has my highest endorsement.

Joda Collins Driving Academy did GREAT at teaching me how to drive safely and responsibly on the road. He is a no nonsense kind of guy due to the importance of road safety, which is needed in teaching such a skill that could cost people their lives. I'm thankful to have learned from such a great instructor!

My wife and I used Joda Collins driving school to train both of our sons. We had an incredibly good experience. I even learned a lot and still use the things he taught us (I was in the back seat for about a dozen lessons). I quote him regularly, "First one into the intersection goes to the hospital." Each lesson is filled with a wealth of wisdom and safety. My two sons are great drivers with near flawless records. I highly recommend the school and instructor.

Joda is very professional in his teaching, my 15 year old daughter has taken numerous lessons from him, he is straight and to the point. He does not hold back in his assessments and if the person taking the lesson is thin skinned they may not be able to handle his criticism very well. If you want your daughter/son or anyone else to become a safe defensive driver he will get them there, we highly recommend him.
